Bruinisse and it’s surroundings

The characteristic fishing village of Bruinisse on Schouwen-Duiveland island is situated directly along the Grevelingendam and is therefore easily accessed from the mainland. De Stoofpolder is also easily accessible from other areas via the Zeelandbrug. The village of Bruinisse and Schouwen-Duiveland island play host to various attractions, events and day-trips. We’ve drawn up a list for you to give you a head-start while planning your holiday with us. From a visit to the Watersnoodmuseum to the Delta Works and from a wine-tasting at the Kleine Schorre to a unique dining experience at Brasserie Sailor’s Inn – Schouwen-Duiveland has everything you need for a fun, relaxed or adventurous stay.

Bruinisse yacht harbour

The yacht harbour in Bruinisse is a unique destination; from sailing to a relaxing day at the beach, there’s something for everyone. Complete with a wide selection of restaurants and pubs!

Brusea

The Brusea is a reconstruction of an 18th century fishers dwelling and highlights the daily life of a mussel fisherman from Bruinisse – a lovely display of Bruinisse’s history.

Watersnoodmuseum (Flood-Disaster Museum)

Dedicated to the flood disaster of 1 February 1953, the Watersnoodmuseum features an impressive display and is situated in the actual caissons used.

Kleine Schorre winery

For the wine-lovers amongst us, a visit to the Kleine Schorre is the perfect outing. During a tour, you’ll learn everything there is to know about the bottling process (and taste the wines, of course!).

Bicycle café

The fietscafé is the well-loved place to stop for a warm drink or a bite to each while touring the island by bicycle. Charge your electric bicycle over a cup of coffee. Lost your way? Bicycle routes for the entire province can be purchased at Hotel Bru!

Brasserie Sailor’s Inn

Brasserie Sailor’s Inn, member of the Circle of Oosterschelde Lobster, is located in Bruinisse’s beautiful yacht harbour. Enjoy a true culinary experience; during lobster season, you can also book the Oosterschelde lobster package.
